As a means of implementing the guidelines suggested by the CDC, we are cancelling ALL events and in-person worship services until May 3rd. Please join us for online worship via Facebook Live at 10 a.m. each Sunday Click on the button below to go to our Facebook page. You do not need a Facebook account.
We will not have in-person worship services until May 3rd. We are taking this action not only in response to the requests of the government and our denominational leadership, but because we believe we have a responsibility as both a church and as individual Christians to help safeguard the people of our congregation and community.
Here is our strategy and some information for the next two weeks:
As an alternative to our regular worship services we will offer online worship services at 10 AM on Sundays, through Facebook Live.
If you do not have access to a computer or to Facebook, you are invited to set-up a time during regular office hours (M-F from 8 a.m. -1 p.m.), to come to the church and view a recording of those services.
All meetings and events scheduled at the church are cancelled through May 3rd .
We will inform the congregation of any additional changes or updates through the weekly email, phone messages, our Facebook page (Sturgis United Methodist Church), our website (www.sturgisumc.org) and letters.
The church office will continue to be staffed Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
If you have a prayer need, or need someone to help with getting groceries, prescriptions or other necessities or resources, please contact the church office at 720-5578 or email us at email@example.com and let us know. Members of our church family are available and more than willing to help out.
If you are a senior and need help with meals, the Meals on Wheels program is accepting new clients. Call Jamie Helms at 347-1740 and she will tell you how to get enrolled.
Despite the isolation of this time and the many uncertainties we are facing, please know that you are not alone. God will continue to be with us and the Church will continue to do its work and share Christ’s love as we have done for generations.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified…, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” -Deuteronomy 31:6
5:17 BREAKTHROUGH PRAYER We are yours, O God. We offer ourselves to you; mind, body and spirit. Come and break through in our lives and in your Church. Do your work within us and through us. Fill us with your Holy Spirit and with love for our neighbors. Show us the plans you have for us and for your Church, and then give us the courage and the willingness to act on what we are shown. In the name and the authority of Christ, we pray. Amen
PRAY WITH US
Each day the people of this congregation stop at either 5:17 AM or PM for a moment of prayer. We are asking God to breakthrough in our lives, in the lives of our friends and family, in the communities where we live and in the Church. Please join us in prayer:
