Congregation Photo Directory App – Our new church directory is up and running! Download the Instant Church Directory app and log in using the email address we have on file for you. A verification code will be sent to your email. Having trouble logging in? Contact the church office and we’ll be happy to help. Still need your directory photo taken? Pastor Mark, Lisa, Crystal, or a member of the Leadership Team can take one for you!

Your Giving Makes Ministry Possible – Every gift to Sturgis First United Methodist Church helps support the ministries and mission we share together. Your generosity helps make worship, children and youth ministries, community outreach, congregational care, and the everyday work of our church possible. Whether you give regularly, fulfill a pledge, or make a gift when you are able, every contribution is a meaningful part of the work we do together as a church family. There are several convenient ways to give, including during worship, by mail, or online. You can find complete giving information and the QR code at the end of today’s bulletin. Thank you for your continued generosity and for helping us serve Christ, our church family, and our community.

Sturgis Community Preschool Drive-Thru Chili Fundraiser – Support Sturgis Community Preschool and enjoy an easy dinner! The drive-thru chili fundraiser will be held Thursday, October 8 from 4:00–7:00 PM here at Sturgis First United Methodist Church. Preorders are available! Scan the QR code on the flyer posted on the bulletin board near Pastor Mark’s office for more information and to preorder.

Chili & Soup Cook-Off – Volunteers Needed! - The Sturgis Alliance of Churches Chili & Soup Cook-Off will be held on Monday, October 26 at the Sturgis Community Center. This community event features chili and soup, desserts, drinks, and coffee, with guests voting for their favorites through a goodwill offering. Donations received help the Sturgis Alliance of Churches assist local families in crisis with needs such as food, utilities, temporary housing, and transportation. We are looking for volunteers from our church to help with this event! In past years, our church has helped by making and serving grilled cheese sandwiches.

Household Information Update – We need your help making sure our church records are accurate! As we have been working on updating and transferring our directory information, we have discovered that some of the information we currently have is outdated or incorrect. We are asking every household to complete one Household Information Sheet, even if you believe we already have your correct information. This will help us make sure names, contact information, household members, and other important details are up to date. Please complete one form per household and return it to the church office, Crystal, or Pastor Mark. Thank you for helping us keep our church records accurate!

Sunday Morning Study Group – Our Sunday Morning Study Group is back! Join us Sundays at 8:30 AM as we continue with Season 4 of The Chosen. Come enjoy Scripture, discussion, fellowship, and a deeper look at the stories of Jesus and His disciples. It’s not too late to join—everyone is welcome!

Adult Study: “The Wired Word” – Join Pastor Mark on Wednesdays for The Wired Word, an adult study that explores recent news stories and current events through the lens of Scripture and faith. Each week features a new topic, discussion questions, and Scripture passages as the group considers how biblical wisdom speaks into the world around us. You can join at any time—no need to have attended previous weeks! Choose whichever Wednesday gathering works best for you:
10:00 AM – Chamber of Commerce
6:30 PM – Hotel Sturgis

Come share your perspective, ask questions, and enjoy meaningful conversation. Everyone is welcome!

Alter Youth Group – Alter Youth Group – Wednesdays are for Alter! Youth in grades 6–12 meet at the church at 5:30 PM for a chance to hang out, have fun, and explore faith together. Expect plenty of conversation, activities, and a place to just be yourself. Bring a friend and come check it out!

Treehouse After-School Program – Treehouse is underway and we’re excited for another great year! Our free after-school program for students in Kindergarten through 4th grade meets Wednesdays after school until 5:30 PM. This fall, the kids are learning about the Fruit of the Spirit through Bible stories, crafts, games, activities, and memory verses. Want to be part of Treehouse? Volunteers are always welcome! Whether you can help regularly or occasionally, contact Crystal or the church office to learn more.

United Women in Faith Quilt Raffle – Don’t miss your chance to win some wonderful prizes while supporting the ministry of United Women in Faith! The raffle drawing will be held on November 7 during the UWF Fall Bazaar. This year’s prizes include a beautifully handmade quilt, grocery gift cards, a gas gift card, and more! Raffle tickets are just $5 each, making it easy to join in the fun and support a great cause. If you would like to purchase a ticket, please contact a member of United Women in Faith. Thank you for supporting this ministry and helping make their work in our community possible!

Daily Scripture Readings – We invite you to spend time each day in God's Word through these daily Scripture readings. These passages are selected to complement the worship life of the Church and provide opportunities for prayer, reflection, and spiritual growth throughout the week. May these readings encourage you, strengthen your faith, and draw you closer to Christ each day.
